The photos below show the evolution of a pretty grundgy old 12' aluminum boat purchased for $500 (boat, 5.5hp motor and trailer). Spending about  $200 for some ash, cedar and a little bit of mahogany allowed for a winter transition into a pretty classy little runabout which can go just about anywhere on fumes and with ease and comfort. Butterfly certainly disproves the old adage that a yacht is nothing more than a hole in the water into which you throw money.
